Idea regulation § 300.307(a). In May 2010, the office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services of the Michigan Department of Education issued a requirement that all public school districts in the state publish the process by which they will determine the existence of a Special Learning Disability in regard to students referred by the school to its Special Education Division for evaluation. Therefore, we are informing you that beginning the 2010-2011 school year, the Alex & Marie Manoogian School will be utilizing a documented pattern of a child’s strengths and weaknesses as its primary process for determining a specific learning disability exists. Other evaluation measures and instruments will be incorporated as needed.
